Synthesis, Characterization and Sorption Behavior of Some Radionuclides on Zirconium Tungstate Ion Exchanger
Zirconium tungstate as an inorganic ion exchange material has been synthesized at different conditions. The materials were characterized by means infrared spectroscopy, thermo gravimetric analysis, and X-ray diffraction techniques. The stability of the ion exchangers was investigated in acidic and alkaline media. Ion exchange properties of synthesized materials were studied by measuring the dis...

An aggregation-induced emission (AIE) probe, possessing a quaternary tetraphenylethene (TPEN) cation, was successfully intercalated into layered α-zirconium phosphate (α-ZrP) nanosheets by ion-exchange. The hybrid materials emit strong blue emissions in aqueous solution which can be used as an effective fluorescence label for HeLa cells.
متن کاملCalcium ion exchange in crystalline gelsolin.
Gelsolin is a calcium and pH-sensitive modulator of actin filament length. Here, we use X-ray crystallography to examine the extraction and exchange of calcium ions from their binding sites in different crystalline forms of the activated N and C-terminal halves of gelsolin, G1-G3 and G4-G6, respectively. We demonstrate that the combination of calcium and low pH activating conditions do not indu...
متن کاملCompetitive Ion Exchange Behavior on Oxides
Cation adsorption data using MnCl2 and the proton isotherm of a Si oxide were compared with pH as the variable. The cation adsorption data quantitatively correlated with the proton isotherm analysis; the H+/Mn* exchange ratio was 6.0. The presence of adsorption plateaus are due to pH-dependent (step) reactions; this was suggested as the only reasonable explanation for adsorption isotherms cover...
